The final gripping chapter in the saga of Miss Cassidy.

The truth is out there. And somewhere, so is Miss Cassidy.

The Mystical Mister Kay, a ghost-seer from Singapore, arrives in the English city of Tolwich in search of his friend Miss Cassidy. But his investigation takes a darker turn: a princess is found dead, a cult-like fashion house holds the city in its grip, and a seminary for Asian royals hides secrets no one dares name. As gods from Ancient Greece and Asia slip into the mortal world, Mr Kay is pulled into a mystery that spans continents and mythologies—one that may bring him closer to Miss Cassidy, or destroy him trying.

  • The Mystical Mister Kay is a novel full of riches, vividly realised and ingeniously plotted. It shifts effortlessly between the myths of Ancient Greece, the cosmologies of Asian religions and the more humdrum magic of domestic gods and faeries, and the human beings whose lives and fortunes they oversee. At its heart is a wonderful love story and a celebration of family in all its guises. At its roots are the ills of empire and industrialisation and the struggles of women against patriarchy. The Victorian age as you have never quite seen it before. A fabulous read, in every sense of the word.”
—Sarah Bower, author of The Needle in the Blood

“The adventures of Miss Cassidy and her friends have been an enormous source of joy for me through the years; once more, Boey weaves together Southeast Asian mythology, history and a cast of irrepressible characters in an utterly delightful supernatural whodunnit.”
—Olivia Ho, former Straits Times Arts and Books editor
