The Birds in the Park is written as a sequel to The Birds in the Balcony where siblings Ann and Tim witnessed a couple of Ornate sunbirds (formerly known as Olive-backed sunbirds) build their nest and raise their chicks in their balcony.
The Birds in the Park sees Ann and Tim embarking on their new birdwatching adventure at the park! This book seeks to introduce some common birds found in the nature city of Singapore and the concepts of citizen scientist and bird watching to readers from the age of seven.

Josephyne Ho is a Singaporean writer and illustrator with over two decades of experience in Early Childhood Education. Holding a postgraduate degree in the field, she brings her expertise into her creative work, crafting engaging and gentle narratives for young readers. Josephyne discovered her passion for writing and illustration during the Covid pandemic in 2020, exploring watercolour as her preferred medium for its soothing quality and the dreamlike softness it brings to her art. She recently published The Birds in the Park, a sequel to her debut children’s book, The Birds In The Balcony, continuing her heartfelt exploration of nature and its wonders through her signature watercolour illustrations.
