    A new international phenomenon!

Tales of panic buying, fear and irrational behaviour in a time of Coronavirus

    • A collection of stories, written from a humorous perspective on irrational human behaviour in a time of crisis
    • Extremely topical as Covid-19 has affected people all across the world
    • Instantly relatable stories even if we refuse to plead guilty to such actions
    • Writes with a wit that is both endearing and entertaining

The Coronavirus Disease 2019, or to use its hippier name, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected everyone across the globe, regardless of race, age, sex or religion.

With an astute sense of observation, Christina Thé has been inspired by how people behave in times like these. "Locked-up" at home for 56 days, she wrote these pieces to cheer up her friends and business associates, and to counter all the gloom and doom in the news. Though the incidents are all based on real incidents that have happened, the characters have been slightly exaggerated—this is, after all, a book of humour.

And let's face it, we all can empathise or relate to her stories because that's how we behave—even if we refuse to publicly admit to such irrational actions.

  • "This collection of vignettes about life under virtual lockdown(euphemistically called circuit breaker), is not only refreshing for its self-deprecating humour, but also a wry observation of human nature under duress (and without Durex, as Thé would quip). This is one book you want to keep by your side to survive the viral apocalypse. Panic-buy it now!"
    —Felix Cheong, author and educator

  • Escaping from civil unrest in her native Indonesia, Christina Thé lived in six countries before finally settling in Singapore. Along the way, she collected four degrees—half for her parents, half for herself. Today, she appears regularly on Singapore’s opera scene. As a soprano, she trained at the Royal Academy of Music in London and has performed in Carnegie Hall. Outside of music, she writes creative non-fiction while taking care of her two kids as a single mother.
