Juliana Patricia Lim is a retired senior civil servant. Joining the elite Administrative Service in the 1970s, Juliana found herself at the centre of the rapidly burgeoning arts scene in Singapore. Through her work in the People’s Association, the Ministries of Culture, Community Development and Information and the Arts, she oversaw the state-led push to transform Singapore into a culturally vibrant city.
After taking early retirement from the civil service, Juliana joined the then-new Singapore Arts Centre Company, which was responsible for planning and building Esplanade: Theatres on the Bay. Beyond her professional involvement in the arts, Juliana has also been involved in numerous arts and cultural groups like Operaviva, Very Special Arts, The Fifth Passage, and the Richard Wagner Association (Singapore) (RWA(S).
