For over 10 years, Benjamin Thong has been teaching and helping students better understand the study of Economics. He is a former Economics teacher and lecturer at St. Andrew's Junior College, Singapore. His interactions with the students have allowed him to understand their challenges and needs which inspired him to develop effective learning materials, specifically for pre-university Economics education. He also served as the Assistant Year Head for Student Development in the school.
Before entering the teaching service, Benjamin completed his Bachelor of Arts (BA) majored in Economics and minored in Southeast Asian Studies, at the National University of Singapore. After graduation, he received the MOE Teaching Award from the Ministry of Education, Singapore, to pursue the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), specialised in Economics in Junior College, at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
In 2020, he was conferred the Master of Education (MEd) in Developmental Psychology by the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He focused on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children and adolescence.
