Peter Grunwald studied chemistry at the Universities of Saarbrücken and Hamburg, Germany, where he graduated in the field of high-frequency spectroscopy, and then became a staff member of the Institute of Physical Chemistry. After receiving his PhD in Physical Chemistry he founded a biotechnology research group. His research interests focus on the preparation and properties of immobilized enzymes, enzyme kinetics in organic solvents, environmental biochemistry, and chemical education. Professor Grunwald is among others editor of a Series on Biocatalysis published by Pan Stanford Publishing Pte. Ltd.
