In Goh Bee Lock and the Three Boars, a playful girl named Bee Lock stumbles upon three boars in a forest. While the normal reaction would be to turn your heels and run as fast as you can to safety, let’s see what this feisty Singaporean girl does, turning this popular fairy tale on its head with a surprising local twist! You won’t want to miss how foodie KF Seetoh has reimagined this classic story!

Epigram Books is proud to present our brand of traditional fairytales told Singapore style! Three local celebrities—Adrian Pang, Glen Goei and KF Seetoh—present Singaporean versions of traditional fairy tales to benefit the Society for the Promotion of ADHD Research and Knowledge (SPARK).

  • “Western fairytales get a fun Singaporean spin in these illustrated retellings.”
    —Akshita Nanda, The Sunday Times

  • KF Seetoh began his professional career as a photojournalist in the 1980s. In the mid-1990s, he created Imaginasian, the world’s first Asian stock photo library. The food guide, Makansutra, written in 1997, captured the essence of local street food culture and currently has editions in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Beijing. Makansutra is also now involved in themed-concept food courts (Philippines, Singapore), web and mobile content apps, TV food shows, events and consultancy. In 2008, Singapore Tourism Board honoured Mr. Seetoh with a Special Recognition Award for being “a true Singapore Food Ambassador”. CNN calls him the “Guru of Grub” and The New York Times cites him as “the food guide maven”.

Gavin Goo is a freelance art director and illustrator. He is the illustrator of Ahoy, Titanic! (Retail Curators, 2012) and Rochee the friendliest cockroach (Straits Times Press, 2009).
