Make a Satur-date with Authors this April!

This month, we’re giving you a chance to get close and personal with our new authors, Linda Locke, Diana Gale and Ning Cai.

Celebrating the 125th anniversary of Singapore’s National Flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim; this month, we’re holding a special book launch this Saturday for our brand new book, Agnes and Her Amazing Orchid: How Vanda Miss Joaquim Became Singapore’s National Flower.  The launch will feature a story-telling session with book’s co-author Linda Locke, as she shares how Vanda Miss Joaquim was created by Agnes Joaquim, who is Linda’s great-grandaunt.

There will also a special craft activity for children where they can make their own paper orchid while learning about flowers, a face-painting session, and as a treat, kids can take home their very own orchid balloon, too! Also, Singapore Mint will also be showcasing its newly created orchid medallion series — and yes, you can order your own set!

DETAILS7 April, 10.30am, at Singapore Botanic Gardens’ Green Pavilion (where the Botany Centre is located). Admission is FREE.

... with Diana Gale this Saturday as she shares tips from her debut cookbook, The Domestic Goddess Wannabe Bakes.

Diana, who’s better known to the online community as The Domestic Goddess Wannabe, is a self-taught culinary instructor who has won the Best Cooking Blog twice as well as the Most Popular Cooking Blog prize, and she will share tips to help you with your next baking adventure. She will also lead a fun children’s activity, where kids will get to make their own cupcake decoration. Find out more HERE.

Former multi-award-winning stage illusionist Ning Cai cements her new direction as an author with Misdirection — the first book of the Savant Trilogy, a new YA series featuring parkour champion Maxine Schooling, who's on the trail of her family's murderer. She will be on hand to talk about what went into writing Misdirection — and yes, she will probably show you a little trick or two. Find out more HERE.
