Ten great fables with beautiful illustrations have been selected to give children the most pleasurable experience. Read about the Sunda slow loris who is sure to bite if you get too close, the red-cheeked flying squirrel who is afraid of flying, the mud lobster who welcomes a snake in his home, and learn lessons along the way. Don't forget about the fun facts that follow—they are all about local flora and fauna.
A great illustrated primer on fables to teach life lessons everyone should know. - "Beware the Sunda Slow Loris and Other Singaporean Fables is a beautifully illustrated children's book that brought me on a journey into the imaginary world, but with our Singapore's native wild animals. Having worked with wildlife in distress, it is heart-warming to see how these stories gracefully touch upon important issues such as poaching, debris in our habitats and caged birds. Needless to say that the animals' names are tastefully selected. As the book aptly ends with an important moral: "No act of kindness, however small, ever goes wasted," I am confident that children who read this will be inspired to begin their acts of kindness, small or big."

"Crabs, mousedeer, bulbuls and other animals tell their stories in this delightful collection of bitesize tales that are a perfect introduction to Singapore's endemic inhabitants. Nature fans will love the vivid watercolour illustrations that bring alive anthills, rivers and mangrove swamps. Each tale has a message and interesting insights to help us understand our animal friends and ourselves!"
