The Story of LKY #1 - Lee Kuan Yew: Growing Up

The Story of LKY is a two-part tribute to Singapore’s late founding father and Minister Mentor, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. The manga is a collaborative effort between Shogakukan Asia and Japan’s manga authors in commemoration of  the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Japan relations. Tapping onto Singapore’s transformative period, the biographic comic highlights Mr. Lee’s inspirational life, and traces the significant historic events that would shape Singapore into the county it is today.

Before Lee Kuan Yew became the founding father of Singapore, he was “Harry Lee”, a clever and mischievous child who never shied away from a challenge! Trace his early years and life in college, as well as his experiences during World War II that would eventually shape his ideals for an independent Singapore.
