  • J.H. Low is an art educator, artist and creator of children’s picture books. He has a BA in Fine Art from the University of Leeds, a MA in Children’s Book Illustration from the Anglia Ruskin University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Art. His book, There is No Steak Buried Here garnered a Highly Commended at the McMillan Prize 2009. This story was subsequently developed into the series, Four Tooth and Friends, and has been published in three different languages: Chinese (under the name Ye Zi), English and Vietnamese. His other book, Night in the Garden, featuring Singapore’s very own Gardens by the Bay, was on the shortlist for the Asian Children’s Book Award 2017. In 2019, he also won the first runner-up of the Scholastic Picture Book Award with his submission Orang & Hutan.
